For The New York Times’s 2024 Summer Olympics coverage, we launched a new version of our delightful animated event summaries generated from the official Olympics Data Feed, reaching 18.3 million followers as of 2024. New features included automatic camera tracking of lead athletes, an animation timeline UI, and an overhauled character animation system.
